Memorandum of Understanding
Miramar Prison Garden relies on the efforts and contribution of all members. All new members must agree to abide by the memorandum of understanding when applying for an allotment.

I will pay a fee of $50 per year / per plot to help cover the garden expenses, due 30th of each year,

I will not share the combination lock code with anyone,

If I see a hazard in the gardens, I will take care of it myself or will notify leadership,

I will control weeds and litter and maintain the areas immediately surrounding my plot

I will keep the path bordering my plot mulched and maintained,
-
I will not use poison, or non-organic pesticides or herbicides,
-
I will not pick crops from another plot unless given permission by the plot user,

I understand that well behaved pets are welcome, and dogs must be kept on leash at all times

I plan to contribute towards tasks related to the maintenance community garden as a whole (see list on Allotment Application form),

I understand that gardeners are requested to complete tasks outside of their personal allotment when possible

I will assist with the overall maintenance and running of the garden by contributing to working bees where possible,

If I must abandon my plot for any reason, I will notify one of the garden organisers,

I understand that neither the garden group nor owners of the land are responsible for my actions. I therefore agree to hold harmless the Miramar Prison Garden and owners land for any liability, damage, loss or claim that occurs in connection with the use garden by me or any of my guests,

I will interact positively with all members and visitors to the garden.
