Miramar Prison Garden is a welcoming and supportive community. Our members include experienced gardeners happy to share their knowledge through to keen beginners who are enjoying creating their first garden. There is always something to do and learn.

Membership is currently $50 per plot per year. New members are able to choose from available plots in one of the 4 gardens: Puriri, Kauri, Terrace, and Pollinator. Members also have full use of the greenhouse to raise seedlings, and all tools and kitchen facilities. Members also have access to our wonderful compost and worm farm to improve the soil in their plots.

Other ways to get involved
The garden is open to the public during daylight hours and visitors are always welcome. Volunteers are onsite Sundays from 10am - 4pm (ish) and are happy to give tours and answer questions.

We have a play area and children's bed for small gardeners to dig, plant, and play in. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome and must remain on-leash at all times..
​
We are always in need of help with managing invasive weeds, maintaining hard landscaping, and appreciate donations of funds, seedlings, mulch, and good quality tools and other gardening equipment.
